With this young couple’s growing family, they needed to maximize their space, increase functionality and add storage. They wanted warm contemporary spaces that would be comfortable, functional and child friendly. In the living and dining rooms, we maximized the space through the selection of furniture including an extendable dining table, two eight foot sofas, and various cabinets. A bubble glass chandelier and large scale circular patterned rug add pops of pattern and texture. We used a rich earth palette and walnut woods to warm up the space and contrast the light wood floors. We achieved the client's biggest goal - to transform their master bedroom into a luxurious hotel-style suite. Again storage was an issue, so we began by designing a 17’custom wall unit to house their files, books, and computer equipment. We warmed up the room with the use of a rich earth palette, including a red painted accent wall and dark walnut woods. Reading was a high demand activity in this home so we added two comfy leather club chairs and a chaise, perfect for curling up with a good book.
Through the use of a consistent palette and the addition of furniture, fabrics, etc, the originally sparse areas are now a cohesive environment suitable for entertaining guests as well as everyday life.
