ABOUT PROJECT

Located in the unique and vibrant city of Venice Beach, this multi-floor loft is an extension of the city and homeowner’s personality. The contemporary architecture and incorporated indoor-outdoor space, including a roof deck, provided an ideal, neutral palette to work off of. Because the homeowner was a new resident to the area, Velvet Hammerschmidt Design was retained to design, procure, and install all furniture, lighting, and accessories.

The illuminated “FUN” sign almost says it all. Our client was looking for a colorful, eclectic, contemporary interior in which he could entertain and also relax. Pops of color such as bright red, electric blue, and Tang orange in every room unify the home and give it a contemporary, funky vibe. Texture, pattern, and an eclectic mix of light fixtures insure that this large loft feels warm and inviting. Custom area rugs, oversized custom furniture, accent pillows, and plants all hold their own and support the contemporary California loft aesthetic we aimed for.
